What's your between-shot reset

I’ve been testing a 12-second between-shot reset with players this fall: exhale for 6, lock one target, then a single cue word before stepping in; across nine rounds it cut post-error shot dispersion about 15%, especially right after a double. What’s your go-to reset under pressure, and what tends to derail it late in the round — pace, noise, or the story in your head?

I go nose-only 4–2–4, press my right thumb into the grip, and say “stripe” while fixing on a dimple; if the group behind is pushing late, I drop to one breath but keep the word so I don’t start steering — crowd chatter derails me more than pace. What cue word sticks best for your players?
